The Dragino RS485-BL is a battery-powered LoRaWAN RS485/UART converter designed to connect compatible industrial sensors, meters and monitoring devices to long-range LoRaWAN networks.
Operating on the EU868 frequency band, the RS485-BL enables wireless transmission of data collected from devices using RS485 serial communication, including compatible Modbus RTU equipment.
The converter features an integrated 8,500mAh battery, allowing deployment in remote locations where permanent electrical power is unavailable or difficult to install.
Its RS485 interface enables communication with suitable industrial instruments, such as energy meters, water meters, environmental sensors and other devices that support compatible serial communication protocols.
Through configurable communication commands and reporting intervals, the RS485-BL can retrieve data from connected equipment and forward the information over a LoRaWAN network to a compatible network server and IoT platform.
The device features a rugged IP67-rated enclosure, making it suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor installations, subject to correct cable connections and installation procedures.
The Dragino RS485-BL is a practical solution for industrial IoT projects, remote infrastructure monitoring, smart agriculture and utility metering applications requiring low-power wireless connectivity.
Important: The RS485-BL is a communication converter, not a standalone measurement sensor. It does not measure temperature, humidity, energy consumption or other physical parameters by itself. Measurements depend on the external RS485 device connected to it.
A compatible LoRaWAN gateway, network server and appropriate RS485 communication configuration are required.
