The Milesight SG50 45W is an ultra-low-power solar-powered outdoor LoRaWAN® gateway (EU868), designed for reliable IoT communication in remote locations without conventional power infrastructure.
The gateway uses a Semtech SX1302 concentrator with 8 LoRaWAN channels, enabling long-range communication with distributed IoT sensors.
Its integrated 4G LTE Cat 1 modem provides cellular internet connectivity, while the upgraded 45W monocrystalline solar panel (SP1545) offers higher rated solar power output than the standard 30W version.
The system incorporates a 25,000 mAh rechargeable battery to maintain operation during nighttime and periods of insufficient sunlight. The manufacturer specifies up to 4 days of battery operation without sunlight under defined laboratory conditions.
The IP67-rated aluminum enclosure, built-in GPS, embedded LoRaWAN Network Server and remote management capabilities make the SG50 suitable for smart agriculture, environmental monitoring, water infrastructure and industrial IoT.
The 45W version uses the same SG50 gateway hardware as the 30W model; the main difference is the higher-power solar panel, which may offer improved energy harvesting under suitable conditions.
