Industrial Leaf Wetness & Temperature Sensor for Smart Agriculture
The Seeed Studio BH2410150005 is a professional industrial leaf wetness and temperature sensor designed for agricultural, horticultural and environmental monitoring applications. It accurately measures leaf wetness and leaf temperature, providing valuable data for irrigation management, disease prevention, pest control and crop optimization.
The sensor is designed in the shape of a real leaf and mimics natural leaf thermal resistance, allowing water condensation and evaporation behavior similar to real plant leaves. This ensures accurate detection of wetness conditions caused by dew, fog, rain, irrigation or pesticide spraying.
Using FDR (Frequency Domain Reflectometry) technology, the sensor determines wetness by measuring changes in dielectric properties caused by water presence on the sensing surface. The wetness measurement value is proportional to the percentage of the sensor surface covered by water.
The device uses an industrial RS485 Modbus-RTU interface, making it easy to integrate into agricultural monitoring systems, PLCs, RTUs, data loggers and IoT gateways such as LoRaWAN or 4G data loggers.
Its rugged IP68-rated epoxy-sealed enclosure provides excellent protection against water, dust and harsh outdoor environments, making it ideal for long-term outdoor agricultural deployments.
