Dragino SE0X-LB2 LoRaWAN 4-Probe Soil Sensor Transmitter (EU868)

The Dragino SE0X-LB2 is a multi-probe LoRaWAN soil monitoring transmitter designed to connect up to four external DR-SE-6P soil sensors for simultaneous monitoring of soil moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity (EC).

Designed for precision agriculture, smart irrigation and environmental monitoring, the SE0X-LB2 allows users to collect soil measurements from multiple points using a single LoRaWAN transmitter.

Each connected DR-SE-6P probe measures three important soil parameters:

• Soil Moisture: Volumetric water content (V/V %)

• Soil Temperature: Temperature within the soil

• Soil Electrical Conductivity (EC): Conductivity associated with dissolved ions and soil salinity

The transmitter supports up to four independently addressed probes, making it suitable for monitoring different soil depths or nearby measurement locations, subject to cable routing and installation requirements.

The sensor system uses Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) technology for soil moisture measurement, with compensation for temperature and electrical conductivity. The probes are factory-calibrated for mineral soils; additional calibration may be necessary for other soil types.

The SE0X-LB2 version is offered with a 19,000 mAh non-rechargeable Li-SOCl₂ battery, providing greater battery capacity than the standard SE0X-LB model equipped with an 8,500 mAh battery.

Its LoRaWAN 1.0.3 Class A communication enables long-range, low-power wireless transmission to compatible gateways and LoRaWAN network servers. The EU868 version is intended for compatible European LoRaWAN networks.

The device supports Bluetooth 5.1 configuration, LoRaWAN downlink commands and wireless OTA firmware updates, helping simplify commissioning and remote maintenance.

Its IP66-rated enclosure is designed to protect the electronics against dust and powerful water jets when properly installed outdoors.

The system supports soil moisture measurement from 0 to 100% V/V, soil temperature measurement from −40°C to +85°C and electrical conductivity measurement from 0 to 20,000 µS/cm, according to the specifications of the compatible soil probes.

With the ability to monitor multiple points from one transmitter, the Dragino SE0X-LB2 is particularly useful for agricultural installations requiring distributed soil measurements with fewer LoRaWAN devices.

Important: The SE0X-LB2 is a LoRaWAN transmitter, not a complete soil sensor kit. DR-SE-6P soil probes must be purchased separately. One to four compatible probes can be connected, depending on the application.
