Industrial NB-IoT RS485 / UART Converter for IoT Applications

The Dragino RS485-NB is a professional RS485 / UART to NB-IoT converter designed for Internet of Things applications. It enables traditional RS485, Modbus and UART sensors to connect directly to NB-IoT cellular networks, allowing remote monitoring and control through IoT platforms and cloud servers.

The device periodically reads data from connected RS485 or UART sensors and uploads it via NB-IoT to remote servers. This makes it ideal for integrating legacy industrial equipment into modern IoT systems without requiring major infrastructure changes.

The RS485-NB supports RS485 sensors, 3.3V / 5V UART sensors, and interrupt-based sensors, providing excellent flexibility for industrial automation and remote telemetry projects. It also provides controllable 3.3V and 5V outputs to power external sensors while minimizing total power consumption.

The converter supports multiple uplink methods including MQTT, MQTTs, TCP and UDP, making it compatible with a wide range of IoT platforms and servers. It also supports BLE configuration and OTA firmware updates, simplifying deployment and maintenance.

Powered by an 8500mAh Li-SOCl₂ battery, the RS485-NB is optimized for ultra-low-power operation and can operate for several years depending on reporting intervals and network conditions. With its rugged IP67 waterproof enclosure, it is ideal for long-term outdoor and industrial deployments.
