
Solar-Powered NB-IoT Soil Sensor for Smart Agriculture
The Dragino SE01-NS is a professional solar-powered NB-IoT soil sensor designed for precision agriculture and environmental monitoring applications. It accurately measures soil moisture, soil temperature, and soil electrical conductivity (EC) and uploads data to IoT cloud servers via NB-IoT cellular networks.
The sensor uses FDR (Frequency Domain Reflectometry) technology to calculate soil moisture with compensation from soil temperature and soil conductivity, ensuring highly reliable and stable measurements. It is factory calibrated for mineral soil, saline-alkali soil, and loamy soil.
The SE01-NS continuously monitors soil conditions and provides critical data for irrigation optimization, crop management, greenhouse monitoring and precision farming. This helps improve water efficiency, crop productivity and overall soil health.
The device supports multiple uplink methods including MQTT, MQTTs, TCP, UDP and CoAP, making integration easy with most IoT servers and cloud platforms. It also supports BLE configuration and OTA firmware upgrades for easier deployment and maintenance.
Unlike the battery-powered SE01-NB, the SE01-NS uses a built-in solar panel combined with a 3000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery, making it ideal for long-term field deployment with minimal maintenance. It is especially suitable for outdoor agricultural installations with sufficient sunlight.
