Dragino WSS-22 Wind Speed & Direction Sensor (RS485)

• The Dragino WSS-22 is an RS485 wind speed and direction sensor, designed for reliable wind monitoring in weather stations, smart agriculture, industrial facilities and environmental monitoring applications.

  The sensor measures two important meteorological parameters: wind speed and wind direction, allowing operators to monitor changing wind conditions and integrate this information into weather monitoring and automation systems.

  Featuring an RS485 interface with Modbus RTU communication, the WSS-22 can be connected to compatible weather station controllers, data loggers and industrial monitoring systems.

  For LoRaWAN wireless monitoring, the sensor can be connected to a compatible controller such as the Dragino WSC2-L Weather Station Controller, which collects the sensor data and transmits it over a LoRaWAN network.

  The WSS-22 is designed for outdoor weather monitoring applications, with a durable enclosure suitable for installation in exposed environments. Correct mounting and positioning are essential for obtaining representative wind measurements.

  Its combined wind speed and direction monitoring functionality makes it useful for applications requiring accurate information about local wind conditions, including meteorological observation, agricultural operations, construction site monitoring and renewable energy installations.

  When integrated with a compatible controller and monitoring platform, wind data can be recorded, visualized and used to support operational decisions or automated alerts.

  The Dragino WSS-22 is a practical solution for extending RS485-based weather monitoring systems and building connected weather stations.

  Important: The WSS-22 is not a standalone LoRaWAN sensor. It uses RS485/Modbus RTU for communication and requires a compatible controller for LoRaWAN connectivity. The WSC2-L controller, LoRaWAN gateway and monitoring platform are sold separately unless specifically included in a bundle.
